Desalto, 2002

Desalto’s briefing required a new chair, elegant, refined, able to show the technological competence of the company, obviously without forgetting comfort, lightness and stackability. That was clear, but not easy to do. The project was followed in a shared way and gradually implemented with technical and aesthetic details that, even today, make it one of the most important and longeval products of the company.

Initially made with a die-cast aluminum structure, seat and back in polypropylene, the Sand family was then expanded with a version covered in fabric and leather, an outdoor version with textilene seat and back, and stools. Peculiarity: no visible screws.
